Uningrained exists to pull invisible ideas out of the woodwork and examine them honestly. We think that same spirit of transparency belongs here. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit uningrained.com, how we use it, and what choices you have. We've written it in plain language on purpose.

Uningrained is operated by Cedar Cathedral Narrative Studio LLC, an Illinois limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our"). By using this website, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly. When you use the contact form on our site, we collect your name and email address, along with whatever message you choose to send us. We only collect what you provide.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the site — things like which pages are visited, how long people stay, and where traffic comes from. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. Google Analytics may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect this information.

We do not operate our own email newsletter. If you subscribe to Uningrained on Substack, that relationship is governed by Substack's own Privacy Policy, not this one.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to messages you send us through the contact form

  • Understand how the site is being used so we can improve it

  • Diagnose technical problems and maintain site performance

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, profiling, or targeted advertising.

3. Cookies

Google Analytics places cookies in your browser to distinguish visitors and track sessions. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use cookies for advertising purposes.

  • Business transfers. In the unlikely event that Cedar Cathedral Narrative Studio LLC is acquired or merged, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We would notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Third-Party Links

Our site contains links to third-party platforms including Substack, podcast apps, and other external sites. Once you leave uningrained.com, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

6. Data Retention

We retain contact form submissions for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter for recordkeeping. Google Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google's default retention settings, which you can review in their documentation.

7. Your Choices

You may contact us at any time to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you

  • Request that we correct or delete information you've provided

  • Ask questions about how your data is used

8. Children's Privacy

This website is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
